MIS Report
A two-tier multi functional MIS Report, tailor-made for the Kochi Unit had been implemented since 1993. It consists of computer generated Exception Report and Control Reports'
Pre-defined exception boundaries are applied to sieve out critical information from the data drawn from all the departments. Parameters like specific raw material consumption, Manpower productivity, Marketing productivity, Energy Index, Downtime, Delay in office processes, safety and quality standards etc. are being monitored. y-o-y/m-o-m comparisons are made, depending on the nature of the parameters. Certain parameters are subjected to season-wise comparison also
The follow up activity on the control report is conducted at unit level and that on the exception report by the corporate office; the feedback is conveyed to the respective departments, to complete the information cycle.
MIS report is made available on HOCL intranet portal through BI tool. The MIS facilitates effective monitoring and continual improvement in the performance of the unit.

In HOCL all the business processes are performed by SAP ECC6.0 ERP package.

A campus wide Local Area Network(LAN) supported by Optical Fibre Cable at the backbone, facilitates the deployment of SAP.The Data Center is situated at Kochi and a Disaster Recovery Center at Rasayani. For providing ERP application access from all the HOCL locations, a data communication network has been setup using MPLS and Internet based VPN technologies supported by M/s BSNL. For MPLS, which is the primary connectivity, the circuit bandwidth is 2 Mbps in DC site and 1 Mbps in DR and Mumbai sites.
Connectivity is also established with all the branch offices.

The tank monitoring system gives the detailed stock of raw materials finished products and Intermediate products.
Automatic drum filling of phenol and automatic carboy filling of Hydrogen Peroxide gives accurate weighment.
The Distributed Control System is also used to dump process data into the management information System network, enabling the concerned managers to view the plant conditions in pictorial form
