EVOLUTION OF KOCHI UNIT
In the Nineteen Eighties HOCL, diversified its activities. Kochi had been identified as a growth centre due to the availablity of raw materials, man power and other infrastructural facilities. As a result, the Phenol complex at Kochi came into a reality.



The cumene plant was commissioned in 1987.
Phenol and Acetone production commenced in 1988.
A Captive power plant was added in 1992.
Hydrogen Peroxide plant was commissioned in 1997.
The concentration unit of H2O2 plant was commissioned in 1998.
The unit is marching ahead with further growth plans on the anvil.

Training – General
Education, Training and Personal developments are all parts of management development leading to an atmosphere of learning. HOCL believes that training is one of the most important instruments of HRD.
The training and development activities are carried out in the organization in order to improve the skill for performing the job and self development of employees, which will meet the anticipated needs of the organization in terms of productivity, environmental and organizational change and growth.
Based on the Organisational needs identified, employees are covered under various training programmes scheduled for an extended span of two years. This schedule is audited and approved as per the ISO 9001 & 14001 stipulations.
HOCL have management expertise and resources to impart training in Management and in Technical areas.
The Organisation extends its facilities and resources to the students of Management Institutes, Engineering and Professional Colleges and other institutions to undertake Inplant training as part of the curriculum. We also guide the students to carry out the Project Work in both Management and Technical areas.
HOCL provides training to freshers to undergo Apprenticeship training. We engage:

Analytical Services
During the last three decades, HOC has played a pioneering role in the Indian Chemical Industry. HOC, Kochi Unit established QC Laboratories with latest state-of-art facilities and sophisticated Analytical Instruments since 1987. Now our laboratories are updated in tune with latest analytical research and development employing latest software for laboratory management systems.
The expertise and experience gathered by HOC, Kochi Unit during these long period is now put to the service to cater the needs of small/medium/large industries/laboratories by offering the following analytical services.
Hydrocarbon Analysis by Gas Chromatography (GC)
Trace Sulphur Analysis (Liquid and gaseous samples)
